How To Watermark Your Photos…

image2

In this tutorial I'll explain how to add an already existing logo to an image.

You will need to have your logo saved somewhere on your hard drive before beginning. Note the location, and lets get started.

1. Open your photo in Photoshop

2. In then top menu go to File > Place...

3. Find the logo on your hard drive and click

4. Using your mouse, drag the logo to the the desired location on your photo. If the logo is to big, grab one of the resizing handles, hold down , and resize it by dragging your mouse. Holding down allows the logo to keep its proportions without being distorted.

Once the logo is at a good size and in the right place on the photo, hit

5. To add some transparency to the logo, in the Layers Palette, move the opacity slider to the desired level

6. Ready to save it for the web?
In then top menu go to File > Save for Web & Devices...
Settings: JPG / Optimized / Quality 70 then hit
Save the photo in a new folder called "watermarked" or "whatever you want", within the same folder as the original photos.

7. When you're done, go to File > Close and hit That way you don't lose your original high res photo.

Hope this tutorial helps!

I have to emphasize that this is a BASIC tutorial...
There are many variables that you'll probably have to work around before, like for example, what if your logo has a colored background you want to get rid of, or you need to reduce the resolution of the photo because it's to big, etc...
